The Studio

Mandi's Melodies is not your typical music lesson experience. Four Yamaha Clavinova digital pianos line the walls, with an iPad to connect to each for practice assistance. Some of the apps we use also include home access for the students! The piano music lending library is available to every student, and new material is always being added.

Mandi

Mandi teaches individual piano lessons, early learners, and woodwind instruments. She started with informal lessons sometime around 5 years old with her mother teaching her all that she could. Formal lessons followed. She joined the school band when she was old enough and tried several instruments. The woodwinds were perfect for her, with the Alto Sax as her favorite. She began teaching her first student over 15 years ago, and the number of students requesting lessons quickly grew. She spent a short time playing the service music for a little country church with her favorite guitarist. Mandi has an Associate of Arts degree in Music Education and an Associate of Science in Mathematics. Her current adventure is completing a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. She spends her free time enjoying her 2 young children, reading, learning to play the violin, and suggesting home improvement projects to her husband.

Amity

Amity teaches guitar lessons. She started formal piano lessons at the age of 5 and continued with them until she earned the money to buy her first guitar at the age of 12. That guitar was part of many great adventures which included many lessons and a summer guitar camp in Nashville, Tennessee. Other adventures included: playing for the high school jazz band and show choir, music competitions, writing and recording some of her own music, and playing hymns for a little country church. After teaching the younger children in her neighborhood the basics of playing the guitar, she officially began giving guitar lessons and has done so for the past 14 years.  Amity has an Associates in Audio/Recording Technology and a Masters in Psychology with an emphasis in Education. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her children, reading, writing, and teaching herself to play other string instruments.
